Should I be sharing this? Probably not. I honestly think Sushi W is such a gem and I don’t want too many people to discover it. I first came across this anassuming spot via TikTok, which claimed they had the best omakase for the best price. Now that I’ve been…I wholeheartedly agree.
Back in June I took a Summer Friday to celebrate my birthday. I did all my favorite things. I went to a workout class, hit up a cute coffee shop, went to a bookstore, caught a movie, and (of course) treated myself to a restaurant on my list. Sushi W was the restaurant that received “me date” honors and I went all out, getting the premium omakase along with the sake pairing. It was HEAVEN.
The specials that day were branzino, spanish makerel, and orata, which were incorporated into the $68 fixed menu that includes 15 pieces plus two hand rolls. One of those handrolls was so good and made directly in my hand. And one of those specials was so good that I ordered an extra à la carte. I also offered an extra of my favorite sake from the flight.
I can’t believe how delicious (incredible quality) and accessible this meal was. And gratuity is included so you know exactly what to expect for the bill. You also know exactly what to expect for the experience which fits neatly into a 1-hour time slot. It’s more than worth a trip uptown – and that trip could be east or west side since they just opened a second location in the UES this summer. This specific meal has become my new favorite treat.
